Located on a 30-acre site that extends over a mile along the Harlem River, Fordham Landing will be a transit-, pedestrian-, and bike-oriented mixed-use development in the University Heights neighborhood. This unique development will include affordable, market rate, and student housing, a life sciences research center with supporting office space, local and waterfront-related retail, an e-sports arena and hotel, a public school, a community and senior center, and approximately 12 acres of new public open space that will include public farm and garden plots and a continuous waterfront esplanade that will connect to Roberto Clemente State Park. Transit improvements will include a transformed University Heights Metro North station and lengthened platform, a new multi-modal bridge over the Major Deegan Expressway, and a new pedestrian bridge between the site and University Woods park. The design team includes NADAAA, Margie Ruddick Landscape, Perkins Eastman, Langan Engineering, Thornton Tomasetti, NV5, MG Engineering, Arup, and Sam Schwartz Engineering.
